Commercial Aerial & Drone Photographer

There are some views you can only capture from the air. But not all drone operators are professional photographers. Mike Green is both: fully CAA-certified and insured, and an experienced commercial photographer with a trained eye for light, composition and perspective.

That difference matters. Mike approaches every aerial shoot with clear visual intent, creating high-resolution imagery designed not just to document a site, but to help market it effectively.

Whether you're capturing a project in progress, showcasing a completed build, or documenting a commercial property or urban environment, Mike delivers aerial photography that supports marketing, reporting and project communication with clarity and impact.

CAA-Compliant Commercial Drone Photography

Commercial drone photography in the UK is tightly regulated. Professional operators must meet Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) requirements, including holding the appropriate Flyer ID, Operator ID, and comprehensive commercial drone insurance.

Each location must also be assessed for airspace restrictions and flight permissions. Depending on the site, this may involve coordination with air traffic control, local airports or airfields, or other relevant authorities before a flight can proceed.

All drone photography projects with Mike Green Photography are carefully planned, fully compliant with CAA regulations, and carried out with minimal disruption — from initial planning through to the prompt delivery of final edited images.

A Photographer’s Eye in the Air

Mike isn’t just a CAA-registered and insured drone operator — he is a highly experienced professional photographer.

Every drone shoot is guided by a strong understanding of light, angle, perspective and composition, ensuring the images do more than simply document a site — they support marketing and visual communication.

Operating a drone legally is only part of the process. Producing aerial imagery that is visually engaging and commercially effective requires an experienced photographer behind the controls.

Because drones operate in a three-dimensional environment, decisions around height, angle and viewpoint are critical. Combined with careful attention to light and timing, these choices create images with clarity, impact and purpose.

Drone Flight Planning & Site Safety

Strong aerial photography starts with careful preparation. Before any drone flight, planning includes:

Confirming whether drone flight is permitted at the location
Assessing controlled or restricted airspace
Liaising with relevant authorities where required
Completing detailed, site-specific risk assessments

This structured approach is particularly important on construction, industrial and commercial sites, where conditions can change quickly and safety is critical.

Mike is highly experienced in working on active construction and industrial sites, including site-specific risk assessments, methodical planning, and the correct use of PPE in line with site rules and regulations.
